Project Description

In December 2015, the leading female-focused technology publication, Gadgette, requested Virtual Umbrella’s services in organising, curating, and running a VR demo night for journalists and technology-enthusiasts that had yet to try virtual reality (VR The Future).

Under Virtual Umbrella’s management, eleven VR companies attended to showcase their work (Psytec Games, 4AM Games, Tesla Studios, Rewind, CCP, VR GO Chair, Pixel Ripped, Soluis Interact, NBC universal, Homido and Coatsink software). The team also managed the acquisition of eighty Coca-Cola branded cardboard virtual reality viewers for attendees to take home (kindly provided by Maxbox VR in exchange for promotional services at the event).

Tickets sold out in under seven days, with 120 attendees, and a revenue of over £1000. Virtual Umbrella also managed the press coverage, gaining attention from The Metro, VR Girls UK, REWIND, VRWomen, VR Focus, as well as a great deal of praise from the London technology community.

“Amazing evening so far. So many great exhibitors.”

– VR Girls UK

“This event was amazing; I cannot thank Virtual Umbrella for the amount of hard work they put in to the organisation of the event. We plan to work with them again on a follow up event in early 2016.”

Holly Brockwell, founder and editor of Gadgette (The Drum Woman of the Year)
